Just in time for Valentine's Day, Charleston has earned another feather in its cap by being named one of the top 15 romantic getaways around the world, according to Fodor's Travel. With its beautiful downtown mansions, lush green gardens (if not laden with freak polar vortex ice storms....), unbelievable restaurants and night life, it certainly doesn't surprise me. I have had a love affair with Charleston since I first visited 30 years ago,,,who knew I would end up moving here - certainly not my childhood friends! If you live in Charleston now or happen to be visiting our romantic city this Valentine's Day weekend and have not made a dining reservation for you and your Valentine yet, it will be next to impossible to get a spot at your favorite romantic restaurant - unless you are willing to sit at the bar for an hour or more, waiting for a table to open.
